P. L. U is a project based on upcycling -- the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value. In order of that, me and my teammates decided to create this high fashion brand that specializes in the act of reclaiming plastics and forming them into fashionable wear.

LOGO IDENT

This short video I created is an introduction of the brand, where it shows different colors and styles of the types, also showed the upcycling concept by using different materials to form letters. It also shows the young energy of the brand. The strong fast music and pop color combined showed the part of the industrial-focused society, and the garbage formed letters represent the main concept of upcycling.

We created a fashion event to present our clothes. This is the invitation card that I created. The grey landscape of Toronto showed the industrial-focused society which is one of the concepts of the brand.

The inside of the invitation card has a short introduction of the brand, also time and address of the show.
"P.L.U. is a brand that specializes in the act of reclaiming plastics and forming them into fashionable wear. We stand for the People Like Us who live in an industrial-focused society but they care about the environmental impact of our waste. Inspired by nature and our concrete jungle, we present to you the first item in our “U” collection."

Jacket Design

I first sketched in illustrator, then we started to collect materials. My teammates Halle Turner and Keerti Grewal made the clothes out by using muslin as base and plastic bags on the top. We got inspired by the animals, which their bodies will get "puff" if they get attack.

Tag Inside

Each clothes has its tag inside, and so did us. The tag we have was hand-drawn by me. I drew on a piece of muslin which is also the material for our clothes. I mentioned the materials and also the washing instructions on the corner.
